Yoga Life Policies and Observances

At Yoga Life Studio we want to create a sacred space that will optimize each individual's opportunity for physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.  In order to do that..we need our students and staff to adhere to a few observances and guidelines to help us achieve and cultivate a beautiful space for yoga practice.

  1. Please remove your shoes immediately upon entering the studio.  No shoes are allowed inside the practice space.
  2. Please turn all cell phones/beepers and digital devices off before entering the shala.  If you are a physician on-call..let the staff know and you can keep device on vibrate.
  3. Please be sure to use the restroom before or after class and not during class unless it is an emergency.
  4. Please respect the teacher's rules on hydration.  It is best to hydrate before and after class and not during class unless you are de-hydrated or feeling dizzy.
  5. Please respect borrowed items ie. Yoga Mats-by cleaning mat after use..rolling mat neatly..and returning mat in the basket.  Blocks/Straps/Bolsters etc. should also be put back where you found them in the shala.
  6. Be mindful to keep up with your own belongings Before and After Class-Including Water Bottles.  Place any plastic water bottles that are empty in our recycle bin.  If bottle is half full..empty and place in bin.
  7. Hygiene is very important as you will most likely sweat on your mat and on your practice towel during classes.  Be sure to clean Yourself, Your Mat and Your Yoga Rug/Towel Between Practice Sessions.  Deodorant/Anti-perspirants are Greatly Appreciated!
  8. Be mindful to let your teacher know if you need to leave early and Make sure you leave time to take Savasana before you complete the class.
  9. Try to always arrive a few minutes early so you wont feel rushed and have ample time to change clothes/set up your mat/go to the restroom prior to class start time.
  10. Try to follow the guidance of all of your teachers and let them know when you have questions or a pose doesn't feel right etc.  They are here to help you and to answer any questions you might have about the practice.  Please do not do a personal practice in a group Led class.  This can be very confusing to other students who are new to yoga.  Personal practice can be done at home where the class is Self-led.  If your coming to a Group Led class..be expected to be Led and Guided and be expected to follow along with the teacher.  Note: This rule applies to Yoga Teachers Too!!
