Sara Torbett, OTRL/CHT, E-RYT 200 Owner of Yoga Life Studio

Sara is the owner and founder of Yoga Life Studio. Sara founded Yoga Life Studio in 2004 out of her deep desire to help others achieve balance and wellness through the ancient science of yoga.

Sara is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor in Power Vinyasa and Mind Body yoga. Sara most recently trained with Dave Swenson and completed a 40 HR Ashtanga Teacher Training. She recently ended her 10 year professional career as an Occupational therapist and Certified Hand Therapist to pursue her yogic studies and develop her yoga studio. Her diverse background as an OT, professional ballroom instructor, and gymnast have really helped her develop a holistic, well rounded approach to yoga. Sara has trained with many yoga masters including: Dave Swenson, Doug Swenson, Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest, Natasha Rizopoulos, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Manju Jois and Tim Feldmann. Sara's yoga style is spiritual, powerful and very healing to the mind and body as she incorporates healing sounds through music and chanting,aromatherapy and gentle touch to create a soothing environment conducive for healing and balancing the body, mind and soul. Sara just released her new Yoga DVD for Pregnancy "Prenatal Yoga Flow" which can be purchased online, at the studio, or at lululemon athletica at St. John's Town Center Mall. Sara has been practicing Vinyasa and Ashtanga Style yoga for over 8 years now and currently co-Directs the Yoga Life 250 Hr Ashtanga/Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Program. She has also been chosen to be an ambassador for lululemon athletica where she will be hosting special yoga community events to bring awareness of this great practice to Jacksonville residents.

Laura  Randeles

Laura "Shivani" Randeles graduated from Yoga Life's 250-hour Teacher Training Program in February 2008 with a focus on Power Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga.

Yoga Life has been Shivani's personal sanctuary since moving to Jacksonville in 2006 and is honored to be a part of such a sacred and ancient tradition. She believes strongly in the healing power of yoga and meditation and has embraced them as life practices. Shivani initially began as a student of yoga in the Bikram lineage in her hometown of Houston, Texas, before discovering Power Vinyasa in 2005. She had the amazing privilege of taking a 3 day workshop with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Saraswati Rangaswamy at the grand opening of the Sri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute USA in May 2008. She has also taken classes and workshops from ashtanga instructors Tim Feldmann, Kino MacGregor and Greg Nardi. Shivani has a bachelor's in Political Science and a Masters in Liberal Arts from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. She is looking forward to finishing her last year of law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville in May 2009. Mary  Morcom, RYT

Mary “Mohini” Morcom has been practicing yoga since 2005 and completed the 250-hour Teacher Training Program at Yoga Life in February 2008. Mary has had the privilege of studying with and attending workshops from, among others, Sara Torbett, Sati Chmelar, Adrienne Reed, Manju Jois, Doug Swenson, Tim Miller and Tim Feldmann. Her love of yoga came as a natural extension of a lifetime exploration of movement and the mind body connection through dance. Before practicing yoga, Mary studied dance for over twenty years and has danced professionally with the Colorado Ballet, Ballet Austin and Tapestry Dance Company. Mary is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and University of Texas School of Law. She is currently practicing law in Jacksonville with a focus in commercial real estate matters while maintaining a consistent yoga practice. Her yoga practice helps her find balance and a sense of calm throughout the hustle and bustle of her professional life, a gift she hopes to bestow to others through her teaching.

Misty Jarrett, RYT

Misty is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher in Kripalu yoga at Discovery Yoga in St. Augustine, Florida.

Misty recently published her first book " Yoganizer the Organizer" which you can find at Borders or at Yoga Life Studio. Misty has been teaching Power Yoga for the past 2 years and continues to train with yoga masters like Duncan Wong, Shiva Rhea, Dave Swenson and Baron Baptiste.

Tricia Cox, RYT

200 Hour Registered Yoga Instructor with Yoga Alliance in Mind Body and Power Yoga. Tricia recently left her advertising career to pursue her yogic studies and continues to give her students a holistic approach to health and fitness.

Sharla Cole, RYT

Sharla has been teaching Power Yoga for Yoga Life for the past 2 years. She became interested in teaching after attending classes at Yoga Life Studio.

200 Hour Registered Yoga Instructor with Yoga Alliance in Mind Body and Power Yoga. Sharla recently completed a 40 HR Ashtanga Teacher training with Yoga Master Dave Swenson. Sharla is deeply committed to giving her students a strong athletic practice that creates challenge for the body and mind. Her humor and positive energy helps get you through even the most difficult poses with a smile!

Sati Chmelar, Co-Director of the Yoga Life Teacher Training Prog

Ashtanga/Vinyasa Flow Instructor; Licensed Massage Therapist, Thai Yoga Massage Therapist.

After pursuing contemporary dance and experimental performance for 10 years, Sati discovered yoga in 2001. She fell in love with vinyasa-based practice and eventually devoted myself to the traditional Ashtanga Yoga system after studying under Manju Jois. She has been teaching since 2004 having completed over 680 hours of yoga teacher training and continues to study under various Ashtanga master teachers in the U.S. and abroad including Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, Paul Dallaghan, David Swenson, Jeff and Harmony Lichty, Greg Nardi, Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann. She leads classes, workshops and teacher trainings throughout the region and strives to educate my students on all the dimensions of yogic practice including asana, meditation, pranayama, chanting, philosophy and history. She has also received certification in Thai Yoga Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand and graduated from the renowned, Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, Florida. Jessica  Carnes, RYT

Jessica “Radha” is part of the inaugural graduating class of the 250 Yoga Life Teacher Training program in 2008. She is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher in Ashtanga Yoga through the Yoga Alliance.

Jessica’s journey with movement arts began in 1992 with the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu. She practiced and competed for over 7 years, and taught a women’s self-defense class for 5 years. Jessica has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine from UNF. She moved to Tampa in 2002 and began living and working in the professional world, but she was missing something in her life. She sought out Yoga as the missing spiritual link. Her Ashtanga Yoga practice has brought many truths to the surface in her life, and she hopes to inspire students to walk the path of yoga. Ellen  Schaefer, RYT

Ellen is a 200 hour registered yoga instructor specializing in Vinyasa and Ashtanga. She has been teaching since 1999. A former computer programmer, telecommunications engineer, dance instructor, and aerobics instructor, Ellen now enjoys being a stay at home mom for her two boys and teaching yoga classes. She has studied several other styles as well (Bikram, Anusara, and Kundalini) and enjoys taking workshops from local teachers as well as from master teachers at yoga conferences.
